Hi everyone! As many of you know I’m Jeff and in today’s article I’m going to talk about some of my favorite cleaning products that will take the mystery out of the best way to get the results you want to achieve. My main goal is to dramatically cut your carpet cleaning time so that you’ll have more time for things you really love to do.
A special notice to all of house cleaners out there: Just because you know how to use all of the cleaning products, does not necessarily mean you have to be the only one doing the home cleaning-partners can share in the fun! If not, we can help!
Things you will need:
- Paper Towels
- Baking Soda
- 3% Hydrogen Peroxide
- Vacuum Cleaner
If the stain is still wet, blot with paper towel. If you’re out of paper towels you can use an old towel to remove as much moisture as you can. Getting the moisture out of your carpet will actually help you keep the odor down. If the stain is dry, dab it with a cloth soaked in water first and then blot with paper towel.
As soon as you’re done it’s time to sprinkle some baking soda onto your stain and gently scrub it in with a soft scrub brush. Avoid using brushes with hard bristles as they can seriously damage your carpet. Allow the soda to set for an hour or so. Soda will help get rid of smells and even dust or mites that might be living in your carpet.
Now it’s time for magic. Slowly pour hydrogen peroxide 3% solution over the baking soda. Soda and hydrogen peroxide is actually the best combination that removes pet stains from all sorts of carpets. Again, use your soft brush and let it set for a couple of hours (allow the treated area to dry completely). Don’t worry if the soda hardens as you can loosen it with a brush.
Finally, vacuum up any leftover soda and your nasty, smelly pet stain will be history.
